About Jefre C. Outlaw

Jefre C. Outlaw is currently a REALTOR with Outlaw Real Estate Group/Private Label Realty. Jefre has been active in the real estate industry for 26 years. A 26 year veteran of multiple industries, Jefre has spent time working in banking, insurance, law, telecommunications, automotive, wireless, broadband and the real estate industries. Written up as a Master Networker by the Austin Business Journal in 2004 was a crowning achievement for Jefre as it showcased how many people he had assisted in building their small business. In his spare time, Jefre also operates an online networking site for over 2,500 subscribers called The Outlaw List, for tragically hip professionals ages 25 to 45, focused on providing information on the best and most interesting business and social networking events in Austin. Jefre is also an avid dancer and a movie actor having just finished his second movie and preparing for his third. His favorite dances are currently Country Western and Swing.

The History of The Outlaw List by Jefre C. Outlaw

I moved from Dallas, where I grew up, to Austin in July of 2000 to accept a new job at a software startup. At the time I knew no one in Austin. After 30 days on the new job at the startup I realized how precarious and under funded this startup really was and began worrying about my job security. I figured I better get networked fast so that I could find a new job when the time came. So, I printed extra business cards and joined a dozen business, social and charitable organizations in that first year here in Austin. As I met people I asked them if they would like to be on my happy hour list and they were like sure, please add me. So the list started out with 10 friends and grew as people asked me to out them on that “Outlaw List”. So, The Outlaw List was born. At that time I sent out one event each month. The List grew to a hundred and then a thousand and went form monthly publication to weekly publication. My Microsoft Outlook and my ISP could no longer handle the mail volume so I moved The Outlaw List to Levelfield for hosting in 2005 at the 5 years anniversary and the list grew to over 2,000 weekly readers. The Outlaw List website you are viewing today is the third iteration, designed by Full Moon Design in WordPress, launched for the 10 year anniversary of The Outlaw List. It has been an amazing 10 years here in Austin. The Outlaw List now has over 2,500 readers each week.
